The Annaissance is a series of oil paintings on linen canvas that merges the aesthetics and techniques of the Renaissance with a deeply personal approach. The title is a fusion of "Renaissance" and my name, Anna.
Each portrait in this series features a figure who, while never resembling me, is always an implicit self-portrait. The meaning of every painting is conveyed through metaphor.
